The Army requires general repairs of automotive cranes on T 815 chassis
The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic has recently announced a public contract, the purpose of which is to ensure the full functionality and operability of crane equipment on the Tatra 815 chassis, including special attachments, on the basis of a framework agreement. This service includes carrying out an inspection to detect the extent of defects, the need for spare parts, the condition of batteries, tyres and to determine the estimated cost and timeframe for carrying out general repairs.
The repairs will specifically concern the AD28 T815 PJ28, AD20.2 T815, AD20.2 250 P11, AD20T T815, AD30 T815J21 and the AV14 recovery crane.
The overall repairs include disassembly of the superstructure and chassis into parts and components, inspection, repair or replacement of defective parts with new or completely repaired parts and reassembly including surface treatment. Furthermore, the prescribed inspections (including revision tests), calibration and recording in the operational documentation of cranes on the Tatra 815 chassis in the Czech Republic will be carried out.
The suppliers must then demonstrate their basic and professional competence and technical qualifications (the supplier must demonstrate the provision of services in the area in question in the scope of general repairs of superstructures to a value of at least CZK 2 000 000,- excluding VAT per year).
Tenders will normally be evaluated on the basis of the lowest total tender price for the selected repairs. The deadline for the submission of tenders is 21 June 2022. The period of performance of the framework agreement is then fixed until 30 November 2026 or until the total financial volume of the agreement.
The AD-28 mobile crane is designed for construction, assembly and handling work. The truck is equipped with a four-piece telescopic boom. The boom and supports are hydraulically operated. The maximum lifting capacity of the crane is 28,000 kg with a 3 m unloading. The crane is equipped with an overload device and a high voltage indicator. The Tatra chassis ensures good driving characteristics also in adverse driving conditions and in difficult terrain.

A distinctive feature of the AD-28 crane is the driver's box which is protruded to lower the overall height of the vehicle. The machine base of the AD-28 is a T-815 PJ 28 170 6x6.1 chassis and a crane superstructure is mounted on the chassis. There are no other major differences on the AD-28 chassis compared to the T-815 6x6 civilian version. Wheel mounting is simple on the AD-28. The engine is common for both crane functions and vehicle travel. The difference in the gearing is that a hydrostatic transmission is attached to the front of the fore-end shaft to secure the crane superstructure.
The AD-20 truck crane is designed for construction and assembly work even in difficult terrain. In its basic version it is built on a TATRA 815 chassis with a three-piece telescopic boom and a truss extension. For the needs of the Czech Armed Forces, this vehicle is also equipped with a recovery winch with 10 t rope tension, a special Z20LRT container hitch and other equipment according to the approved technical conditions TP-CD.AD20-2000.

The T815 P 14 20 208 6x6 chassis is used as the machine base of the AD-20 and a crane superstructure is mounted on the chassis. The engine is common for both the crane functions and the driving of the vehicle. The difference in the gearing is that a hydrostatic transmission is attached to the front of the front shaft to secure the crane superstructure.
The AD 30 crane is designed for construction and assembly work even in difficult terrain. It is built on the chassis TATRA T 815 250 J 21 30.230 6 x 6.1. The crane has a four-piece telescopic boom, two extensions - a truss and a tubular (for the needs of the Czech Armed Forces only the truss). The hydraulics can be equipped with REXROTH control elements.

For the needs of the Czech Armed Forces, the crane is equipped with a recovery winch with a rope tension of 10 t, a special container sling Z20LRT and other equipment according to the approved military technical conditions TP-0658G-AD30-05.
The AV-14 multi-purpose crane is a mobile lifting device on a T-815 P18 28 218 6x6.1 chassis, designed for crane work up to a maximum weight of 14 000 kg, for salvage work, for carrying loads on hook and towing damaged equipment. Equipping the vehicle with a winch and recovery accessories enables it to perform a wide range of recovery and towing operations and significantly expands its field of application.
