L 410 aircraft in the service of the Czech Army
During November, Aircraft Industries, part of the OMNIPOL industrial group, handed over two L 410 aircraft to the Czech Army after a comprehensive upgrade and maintenance. "The completed maintenance of the L 410 aircraft is a proof of expertise and professionalism. We are proud to contribute to the optimal condition and capabilities of the aircraft serving in the Czech Army," says Ilona Plšková, CEO of Aircraft Industries.
The Czech Army currently has six aircraft in service, the first two of which have been in service since 1985. Aircraft Industries regularly takes care of these machines in its maintenance organisation. In recent months, the latter has been busy with the modernisation and maintenance of the L 410 UVP-E20 and L 410 FG. Both are now back in the hands of the Czech Army.
The first of the aircraft, designated as L 410 UVP-E20 with serial number 912710, left the company's runway on Friday, November 10. This aircraft, manufactured in 1992, underwent a programme known as the Aging Programme, whereby this thorough 24-month inspection included the installation of modern LED taxi and landing lights. The interior of this aircraft is in VIP configuration and features a light beige colour scheme.
The second aircraft, serial number 851525, underwent an extensive R2 revision and left Aircraft Industries on November 30. It was produced in 1985 and now carries a new camouflage paint job and is equipped with updated navigation equipment. Other modifications and changes were also made during the maintenance period to meet specific customer requirements, which included the aforementioned R2 revision, P4, R2 lubrication schedule, R2 defectoscopy, 48 month work, work after 1800 landings, Aging Program, compensation, leveling, rudder balancing, measurement of all avionics, calibration and crash recorder evaluation.
An important feature of the L 410 FG is its designation for photogrammetric terrain sensing. The aircraft is equipped with the CCNS-5 system for flight control during the scanning. In addition, it is equipped with a camera system from Leica.
Although both aircraft are more than thirty years old, they still serve their purposes very well. "Our aircraft are really durable and operational for a long time," said Director Pliskova, adding: "Even so, we are not resting on our laurels and upgrading. We are not resting on our laurels. It is a modification that has improved flight parameters, operational characteristics, more modern technologies and upgraded avionics. This makes the L 410 NG an excellent choice for the modernisation of fleets using older technology."
L 410
The L 410 aircraft are known for their versatility and adaptability, allowing effective deployment in a variety of situations and conditions, which is important to the military. Whether it's aerial reconnaissance, troop transport or supply transport, Aircraft Industries' aircraft provide a reliable and versatile tool to meet diverse requirements.
These Czech aircraft also have the advantage that by operating them, the military reduces its dependence on foreign technology and suppliers, and in practice has greater control over maintenance or modernisation, for example.
The L 410 aircraft are a product of Czech engineering and aeronautical industry and their domestic production shows that the Czech aeronautical industry is rightly reaching world class standards and gaining recognition at home and in the world.
