Tatra Trucks, Tatra Defence Vehicle and Excalibur Army will take part in the largest joint demonstration of contemporary and historical military technology called Ground Troops Day - Bahna 2024. The 34th annual event will take place on Saturday 29 June from 9 a.m. at the former military training area in Bahna near Strašice, near Rokycany. Also this year, the traditional Bahna will present, alongside the Czech Army and NATO allies, the leading Czech defence companies, which are also the main partners of Bahna - the Tatra Trucks automotive company and the military equipment manufacturers Tatra Defence Vehicle and Excalibur Army belonging to the Czechoslovak Group.
The Kopřivnice automotive company will show visitors in a static demonstration the new military Tatra Force 3rd generation, which had its world premiere on 17 June at Eurosatory 2024 in Paris. The Tatra newcomer has a modernised air-cooled Tatra V8 engine under the bonnet, but the Tatra 12-cylinder will also be available, as well as Cummins or Catepillar engines and automated or fully automatic transmissions. Compared to the previous generation, the new Tatra Force concept allows for alternative engine mounting under the front of the cab above the front axle, or under the rear of the cab behind the front axle. The new vehicle also has advanced on-board electronics and will bring greater safety or a higher level of ergonomics and control. At the Bahns, the new Tatra Force will be presented in a version with a standard cab, while armoured cabs, developed and produced by Tatra Defence Vehicle, will be available later. The chassis has the proven Tatra concept with a central load tube and swinging independently suspended semi-axles.
Sternberg-based Excalibur Army will show visitors to Bahen the armoured Patriot 4x4 vehicle on a Tatra chassis. It is a versatile machine that can serve as a light combat vehicle, but also as a patrol or command vehicle, ambulance or carrier of various equipment and weapon systems. It has already found customers in Poland and the Middle East, for example, and it may also be used by the Czech army in the future.
Trucks Service Group will also present another military Tatra, namely a military Tatra Force with a hook loader. There will also be a stand of earmyshop.cz with various gifts and items with an army theme and special clothing and equipment for fans of the military and the outdoors. The presentation of the military ambulance Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series from Dajbych 4x4 will also be of interest.
The Bahna event is organised by the Ground Forces Command and the Ground Forces Foundation of the Czech Army and is intended to demonstrate to all those interested in contemporary military technology the professional readiness of members of the Czech Army and NATO allied armies. The companies belonging to the Czechoslovak Group and the Tatra Trucks automotive company are traditional partners of events of this kind and support events that bring the activities of the armed forces, which protect the security of the state and its inhabitants, closer to the general public and enable the presentation of the latest products of the Czech defence industry.
